About me

Hello, my name is Nichola Terry

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire and I currently work online, telephone and face to face counselling with adults on an individual basis where I offer short and long-term therapy. I have worked and volunteered in the charity sector for over ten years where the majority of my work has been focused on supporting the unpaid carer throughout their individual caring journey.

As an integrative counsellor I believe that a combination of different counselling approaches and theories can offer an environment for the facilitation of growth. I believe in working collaboratively with you where I will tailor my approach to suit your specific needs within our therapeutic sessions.

I have had counselling myself and continue to do so which has helped me to understand how choosing a counsellor who is right for you can be a difficult and sometimes daunting decision to make which is why I work at a pace that suits you.

The foundation of my practice is based on a gentle person-centred approach where I believe that you as the client have the internal resources to help resolve any challenges and issues that has bought you to counselling. I adopt a relational approach to therapy where I aim to establish authentic and mutual connections. My work pays particular attention to exploring any thoughts and feelings that you might be experiencing in the present moment.
